国际咨询教育中心（位于四川大学出国留学人员培训部内）由美国新闻总署通过我国教育部（原教育部外事司）于1985年在我部设立。二十余年来一直积极为广大公费和自费出国留学人员赴海外进修、攻读学位等提供教育咨询服务。
    该中心设在出国留学人员培训部大楼108室，室内设备齐全。每年前来查询的人员上千人次；此外我中心还负责解答附近县市及外省市的人员的信函咨询，以及解答美国各高校招生办公室的一些问题。
    该中心每年定期收到美国新闻文化处、国际教育协会 (Institute of International Education)、Peterson's等部门寄来的有关美国教育机制和美国各大学的最新介绍及其相关资料。此外，还有美国亚洲基金会 (The Asia Foundation)的 定期赠书，也有美国各大学招生部门直接寄送的每年最新的大学信息资料。财团法人日本国际教育协会 (The Association of International Education, Japan) 每年也向我咨询中心赠送日本各大学有关资料。此外，我中心也提供留学加、英、澳、意、法、新、德等世界各国的大学资料。
    该中心自成立以来， 在为西南地区公费和自费出国留学人员提供咨询服务方面做了大量的工作，收到了良好的社会效果。1998年，美国新闻文化总署及美国大学董事会将该咨询中心列入其编写的《1998年海外教育咨询中心目录》之中，该咨询中心的咨询人员一同被列入中国在东亚地区的教育咨询顾问名单。
    自1999年3月起，我咨询中心受国家留学基金管理委员会的委托，开展了一系列的自费公派留学项目，包括赴美、加、澳、荷、法等国攻读硕士学位的项目。受教育部留学服务中心委托，我咨询中心开展了赴新加坡、美国等国家的留学项目。
    随着我国进一步的改革开放和教育体制的不断完善，我咨询中心将一如既往地发挥其积极作用，为广大有志于留学深造的人士提供更新、更好的服务。
    国际教育咨询中心开放时间：每周一至周五上午9：00——11：00 每周一至周四下午2：30——4：30 请前来咨询的人员带上有效证件。

Education Information Center

    With the help of the State Ministry of Education of our country and the United States Information Agency, our Education Information Center was established in 1985. It has been serving for both state-sponsored candidates and individual students for more than 20 years.

    From 1998 the U.S. Department of the State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and The College Board has put our Center on the list of "Directory of Overseas Educational Advising Centers" published by Education USA and The College Board.

    Each year, our Center receives lots of reference materials including the Peterson's Guides, brochures and posters from different American universities. We also receive many reference books from the universities in Australia, UK, Japan, etc. Here in our Center, students can look through the reference books and check their right universities. I also give them the right information they want. Internet is also available here in our Center. We also help students through phone, by e-mail or by mail.

    With the development and open-door policy of our country, our Center will keep on serving the students who intend to pursue their further studies abroad. Playing an important role in consulting, we overseas educational advisers will do our best to give them the right information on studying abroad and provide better service for them.
